Left Behind

So, it seemed that this morning there was a bit of a hoo-hah at the workplace. Why the hoo-hah? A few colleagues were not exactly thrilled about being selected to be ushers in a certain event. Upon further investigation, it appeared that those who were selected were the pretty ladies. So, my other colleague said to me, that those of us who got left behind must be lacking in “pretty”-ness (aka beauty). Perhaps we’re just older… Grin… Another colleague said, “Not older. Matured.”

In a world where many times we’re rated by our appearance, I’m just so glad that I serve a God who looks at our hearts and not our looks or how we weigh on the scale.

1 Samuel 16:7

English Standard Version (ESV)

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

So, perhaps we’re left behind by the world but God will never leave us nor forsake us.

Deuteronomy 31:6

New International Version (NIV)

6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
